A single LoRaWAN gateway can cover a 50km radius in rural areas, making Track Wide ideal for monitoring equipment spread across large properties, farms, or industrial zones.

Do I need my own gateways for Track Wide?
It depends on your location. Many urban areas have public LoRaWAN/LPWAN network coverage (The Things Network, Helium). In rural or private areas, you'll need dedicated gateways, typically €500-1,000 per gateway, covering up to 50km radius. Sharee provides gateway hardware and installation as part of Enterprise tier.
How accurate is Track Wide?
Standard LoRaWAN/LPWAN positioning provides 100m-1km accuracy using signal strength triangulation. This is sufficient for knowing which field, zone, or yard section an asset is in, but not for pinpointing within a room. For precision indoor tracking, pair Track Wide with Track Indoor (Bluetooth BLE beacons) in key areas.
What's the difference between Track Wide and Track Global?
Track Global (GPS/GNSS) provides global satellite coverage with 3-5m accuracy but requires frequent charging. Track Wide (LoRaWAN/LPWAN) provides regional coverage with lower accuracy but 5-10 year battery life. Track Global costs more per device and has cellular subscription fees, while Track Wide operates on license-free IoT spectrum. Choose Track Global for precision and mobility, Track Wide for scale and longevity.
