What's the difference between QR codes and NFC tags?

QR codes are printed smart labels scanned with a smartphone camera from a distance. NFC (Near Field Communication) tags are small chips that require tapping or bringing a phone within 4cm. QR is cheaper (printable) but can be damaged. NFC is more durable and faster to scan but costs more per digital asset tag. Many organizations use both: QR code labels for bulk labeling and NFC smart tags for high-touch checkout stations.

Can Track Scan tags be used outdoors?

Yes, with the right materials. Standard paper QR code labels degrade outdoors, but laminated smart labels, metal plates with laser-etched QR codes, and epoxy-sealed NFC tags withstand rain, UV, and temperature extremes. Our industrial-grade digital asset tags carry an IP67 rating.

How does Track Scan compare to active tracking solutions?
